Eye Makeup Trends for Navy Blue Outfits
We love wearing a little bit of navy blue in autumn; it’s rich, deep and warm which seems appropriate for the chillier time of year, yet it makes a refreshing change from boring old black which is too often our go-to colour. Plus, it’s a classic; whilst other colours tend to go in and out of fashion from year to year, a chic navy playsuit, dress or jacket will forever be a staple wardrobe item. If you find yourself rocking navy blue all the time, here are a couple of our favourite eye makeup looks you can try to keep your outfits looking fresh.
Navy blue and gold were simply made for each other; there’s something so regal about this particular colour combination. We think adding gold eye makeup to the Celine, a long sleeve playsuit with gorgeous floaty sleeves, is a wonderful way to create a show-stopping evening look, particularly if you also add some statement gold jewellery. Sweep some rich gold shadow over your entire lid and use a brush to carefully blend it out up to your brow. Dab some black or dark brown shadow on the outer corner of the eye, then blend it into your crease and out towards your temple. Finish with a slick of black liner, add some falsies and you’ve got a super-glam night-time look.
Blue on Blue
Blue shadow with a blue outfit can really easily look overpowering, but when you do it right matching your eyes with your clothes can really pull your whole look together. The trick is to keep the blue shadow simple and restricted to just one area. For example, you could go for a smoky eye with a touch of dark, matt navy blue shadow at the outer corner of the eye; just be sure to blend it well into a lighter grey or brown shade across the rest of your lid. An alternative would be to take a blue liner and use it under the lower lash line to add a delicate touch of colour, whilst using muted shades across the rest of the eye.
